New Patients

Urgent Appointments

If you require an urgent appointment please fax your referral or get your doctor to ring on your behalf. Babies under 6 months are given priority appointments.

Referrals

A referral from a general practitioner or specialist is necessary to claim the Medicare rebate for a specialist consultation. Referrals from GPs last 12 months (or longer if specified) but referrals from other specialists only last 3 months. It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure the referral is current.

Cancellations

We greatly appreciate cancellations being made more than 24 hours before the appointment so another patient can take your place.

Fees

After your appointment the account will be given, with payment expected on the day (no cash payments). It will be submitted to Medicare online and the Medicare rebate will then be deposited into your bank account. If you are not in a position to pay private practice fees then please ask your doctor to refer you to a public teaching hospital dermatology clinic. We do not offer discounts for pensioners or Health Care Card holders.

Fees Guideline

  • Consultation (new referral) $250 ($78.05 rebate) *
  • Consultation (existing referral) $160-250 ($39.25 rebate) *
  • Skin cancer check (existing referral) $190 ($39.25 rebate) *
  • Procedures (biopsies, surgery, cryotherapy, patch testing etc) billed separately

* With a valid referral

Toilets

There are no toilets in our suite. From our past experience, children (and adults!) often need to use the toilet before their appointment. The toilets are located just to the left of the lifts as you walk in the main entrance. It is best to go before you walk around to Suite 6.

Parking

There is a large parking area at the front of the Medical Centre, off Entry 5 on Monash Ave. If this is full, proceed to the multi-story car park behind the Medical Centre.
